Three days dedicated to the environment and ecosystem of Lake Garda are coming to Bardolino. It is called the Green Life Festival Bardolino and will be held in the lakeside town from June 9 to 11, on the impetus of the Rocca di Garda local fauna conservation project of which the municipalities of Bardolino and Garda have become promoters and which will involve Parco Natura Viva with its technicians.
The festival will be an opportunity, therefore, to turn the spotlight on the environmental issue, starting precisely with the preservation of the biodiversity of the Rocca di Garda area: "The main objective of the nature project is to conserve and protect the local fauna, as well as to make all this known to visitors and tourists through specific posters and discovery routes of the promontory that divides the towns of Bardolino and Garda," explained Carlotta Bonuzzi, councilor of the Bardolino municipality who coordinated the initiative. "Coupling it with a festival that also embraces entertainment and awareness-raising events is the right sounding board to give visibility to issues related to our fragile ecosystem.
And it is precisely with the technicians of Parco Natura Viva that the Bardolino Green Life Festival will open, who will speak on Friday, June 9, in the Gianfilippi kindergarten to present the biodiversity of their territory to the youngest children in a cheerful and playful way. Following this, in the afternoon, the Plastic Free association, assisted by the children of Bardolino's educational services, will scour the beaches and streets to collect butts: "That of butts is an issue on which we are trying to raise more and more awareness," Bonuzzi continued, "by installing new information signs on the harmfulness to the environment of this waste, signs that will also be placed on the grates of manhole covers, where they are often thrown thinking that this way they do not create damage to the environment.
Then on Friday evening at 9 p.m. at Villa Carrara Bottagisio, Nicola Bortoletto of Meteo Caprino Veronese and journalist Maurizio Marogna will present to the public an evening that will focus on climate and the effects of climate change on Lake Garda.
On Saturday, June 10, at 9 p.m., this time at the Corallo Theater in Bardolino, it will be the turn of Zelig comedian Diego Parassole, who will present his show "Climate change is coming and I have nothing to wear," a thought-provoking event with a smile on his face with free admission.
Sunday 11 will start, however, with the cleaning of the bottom of Lake Garda by divers from Gas Diving Bardolino, who will scour the waters in front of the fish plant to bring ashore everything that is not part of the natural environment, supported by WWF volunteers.
The Green Life Festival will conclude Sunday evening at 9 p.m. at Villa Carrara Bottagisio with a lecture open to the public by Filippo Gavazzoni entitled "Lake Garda: What Possible Future?" which will recount the evolution of the Lake Garda ecosystem that has occurred in recent decades.
"That of environmental protection is an increasingly essential issue to be addressed," explained Bardolino Mayor Lauro Sabaini, "and we want to do this by trying to reach as many people as possible through popular outreach meetings. The greatest treasure we have, the one on which our entire economy rests, is precisely our ecosystem, so unique and precious. Valuing it also means making people aware of its utmost respect."
All events of the Bardolino Green Life Festival are free admission.
