"Lake Garda in Love" an example of deseasonalisation of the tourist offer.

These days our lake was the scene of the seventh edition of the "Lake Garda in Love" event, which every year attracts lovers from all over the world who want to spend days of pure romance surrounded by enchanting and unique landscapes.

The towns around the lake are preparing to become the setting for celebrations and initiatives dedicated to love. Among the municipalities that have joined in are Torri del Benaco, Bardolino, Malcesine and Castelnuovo del Garda.

The programme was packed with events: from the traditional one-minute kiss under a cascade of heart-shaped confetti, from paper souvenir photos taken with an old camera from the 1920s, to 'love walks' following the itineraries along the shores of the lake that offer breathtaking views, or going up with the Malcesine cable car to 1800 metres on Monte Baldo, exchanging a kiss and admiring the lake from a unique and suggestive perspective. There were also stalls selling artistic handicrafts and typical local products, live music and entertainment for all tastes. Between one date and the next, lovers were able to share a sweet break with Stringhetto's chocolate tastings. For those who were attracted by the fascination of vintage cars, Saturday in Bardolino saw the arrival and departure of the cars participating in the Coppa Giulietta e Romeo, a race between the mountains, Verona and the lake. 
Of course, the common thread has always been love.

A perfect example of how a tourist destination that sees a greater concentration of visitors in the summer period can also be able to deseasonalise its offer through initiatives, programmes and events that take place in the autumn and winter months. For some time now people have been talking about Lake Garda as a 'container', so called by some, that is saturated in the summer months. These initiatives in the low season not only make the destination more sustainable but offer an alternative lake to tourists, giving them the opportunity to experience it while enjoying the peace and tranquillity that is certainly lacking in the busiest periods.
