New agreement between GardaMusei, Consorzio Lago di Garda Lombardia and Comunità del Garda

01 October 2024

New reciprocal cooperation agreements with the Garda Lake Lombardy Consortium and the Garda Community stipulated by the GardaMusei Cultural Association - founded by the Vittoriale degli Italiani in 2015 with the aim of enhancing the precious capital of culture that overlooks the shores of Lake Garda through a network that now boasts 29 members - have been announced in the last few hours.
From the collaboration for shared cultural events aimed at the Garda territory to the development of activities to spread the knowledge of the territory and its historical and cultural places; from the conception of projects with an educational finality with schools and universities in the territory to the sharing of multimedia projects aimed at Italian and foreign tourists and the participation in national and international fires for the promotion of the territory: these are the objectives of the agreement between GardaMusei, Consorzio Lago di Garda Lombardia and Comunità del Garda.
This synergy opens up new opportunities for communication, participation in tenders and development of targeted activities, which will allow the associations to become the real ‘operational arm’ of Lake Garda, in terms of visibility and tourist and cultural promotion. The union of our forces will make the valorisation of the territory more effective, strengthening its image and attractiveness on a national and international level.
The collaboration has already started. In June 2023, the Garda Community launched the project Io ho quel che ho donato (I have what I have donated), which saw the creation of multimedia content dedicated to the tourist and artistic beauties of the 38 municipalities that are part of the Interregional Authority: video storytelling spread on the web and social networks, featuring the individual realities adhering to the project.
‘Lake Garda, a centuries-old crossroads of different peoples and an area with a high international tourist vocation, is the interpreter of the indissoluble combination of culture and tourism. Few territories can boast important monuments and places bearing witness to more than 2,000 years of history: from Roman villas to Romanesque and mediaeval parish churches, from Renaissance and Venetian-era palaces to the vestiges of the Risorgimento and the last century. A recent survey conducted by the O.T.G. (Lake Garda Tourism Observatory - born from the collaboration between the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and the Garda Community) and in particular by Prof. Valerio Corradi, identifies cultural tourism as one of the segments most in demand and sought after by our guests. It is in this vein that the initiative that is being presented today is set, and which is being launched through a permanent and not sporadic collaboration between the GardaMusei Association, the Garda Lake Lombardy Tourist Consortium, and the Garda Community,’ said Sen. Mariastella Gelmini, president of the Garda Community.
‘Lake Garda is a treasure chest containing infinite artistic and cultural beauties, set in an extraordinary landscape. This agreement will allow us to enhance and promote them to those tourists who want to live authentic experiences in the places they visit,’ said Mauro Carrozza, president of GardaMusei.
‘From now on, Lake Garda will be more united, more active, more attractive, and able to express its potential to the full in order to welcome an increasingly large and qualified number of visitors: we will not disappoint them,’ said Giordano Bruno Guerri, president of the Vittoriale degli Italiani.
‘Having formalised the entry of Garda Musei, right at the last Garda Lombardy Board meeting, last Monday 23 September, makes us enthusiastic and proactive in the future planning of tourist promotion activities on the Brescia side of Lake Garda, the main and exclusive mission of our Consortium.
Having formalised the reciprocal adhesion of the two Garda realities is just the seal of this collaboration, which has already been undertaken, and which we are certain will allow the cultural tourism offer of Lake Garda to make a big leap forward. The territory has so much to offer in terms of culture and experiences linked to our history, and the new tourists on the international market are constantly looking for interesting and emotional proposals capable of tickling their interest and stimulating their attention. So... good work to us!’ says Marco Girardi, President of the Consorzio Lago di Garda Lombardia.
