Sarca River Park: the new territorial forum is established

An evening of discussion with the Sarca communities to appoint the representatives of the Upper and Lower Sarca territorial forum and start work on the new nine-year river park convention.

To ensure maximum participation, the meeting will be held online (at the link https://meet.goto.com/698823245).

The agenda:
1. constitution of the Territorial Forum;
2. communications from the President of the Sarca River Park;
3. appointment of the two contact persons for the Territorial Forum (see art. 12 of the Convention below);
4. miscellaneous and eventualities.

Please note that the Territorial Forum's meetings are public and open to individual citizens, economic entities, territorial associations with interests in the fields of nature conservation, management of natural resources, agriculture, hunting, fishing, wood, water, civic uses, tourism and others of significant relevance to the factors that characterise the Sarca Network of reserves.

Art. 12: Territorial Forum

Paragraph 1)
In order to share the river park's objectives and projects as widely as possible and to implement them with the greatest possible participation, the River Park Territorial Forum is established with the aim of raising awareness and involving the population and the various stakeholders from the economic, social and environmental realities.

Paragraph 2)
The Territorial Forum shall cooperate with the bodies of the River Park to ensure the widest possible participation of citizens and may be consulted for the purpose of making proposals and dialogue with the local community on all aspects that concern it. The proposals of the Territorial Forum shall not be binding for the Network Conference.

Paragraph 3)
The Territorial Forum does not envisage a selection of participants on the basis of representativeness criteria, but promotes an inclusive participation aimed at enhancing ideas and at finding shared solutions also among the different interests; the final validation of the elaborated proposals remains with the River Park Conference.

Paragraph 4)
Individual citizens, economic realities, territorial associations with interests in the field of nature conservation, management of natural resources, agriculture, hunting, fishing, wood, water, civic uses, tourism and others of significant relevance to the factors characterising the river park participate in the territorial forum.

Paragraph 5)
The Territorial Forum is convened in plenary session by the President of the River Park, who presides over it, at least once a year by public convocation. During the first plenary convocation, the Territorial Forum appoints two contact persons, preferably one for the upper course and one for the lower course, who participate in the River Park Conference without voting rights, for the entire duration of the programme agreement. The contact persons may be reappointed in the event of an extension or renewal of the agreement.

Paragraph 6)
The territorial forum is mainly activated through local participative workshops on a territorial and/or thematic basis. The local participative workshops work with the most appropriate timing and modalities in the different phases of in-depth analysis, implementation and monitoring of the projects and initiatives promoted by the river park. Meetings of the local participative workshops may be by invitation, public or with targeted selection of participants, each time assessing the specific project and/or thematic needs. Local participative workshops are convened by the Park's staff or at the request of local stakeholders.

Paragraph 7)
No fees are envisaged for participation in the River Park Territorial Forum and in the local participative workshops.

Paragraph 8)
The functions of secretary of the Territorial Forum are performed by the River Park Coordinator.
