Gardesana without peace: another 40 days of passion

24 September 2024

Not indifferent inconveniences are foretold for users of the Gardesana road in the now famous and infamous stretch between the villages of Gargnano and Salò. Yesterday, in fact, the administrators of the municipality of Gardone Riviera informed their fellow citizens that work on upgrading the white water collection system along the SS45bis road will begin ‘in the next few weeks’.

Forty days of work
The section is the one ‘between the traffic lights and the bus stop - southbound towards Brescia’. For the record, the duration of the works is estimated at about 40 days, weather permitting. In particular, from the second week of October, work will begin on digging and laying the new pipeline, during which it will be necessary to set up alternating one-way traffic on the carriageway.

Meeting with citizens
Precisely in order to shed more light on the planned work and collect any questions and observations, the Gardone Riviera Municipality administrators have organised a meeting with citizens on Thursday at 8.30 p.m. at Palazzo Wimmer, in the presence of the designer and the appointed works director. ‘In the next few hours, a new meeting is scheduled with Anas technicians to define the details of the operations - anticipates the mayor of Gardone Riviera, Adelio Zeni -. They expect to respect the schedule in a month and a half: we hope the timetable will be respected’.

Works amounting to 150,000 euro
The amount of the works amounts to 150,000 euro co-financed by the Pnrr, the sum necessary for the laying of a conduit to collect rainwater from the area above the traffic lights, channelling it into the drainage system at the lake built in previous years precisely to avoid ‘runoff’ onto the state road. The last step of water regulation near the Gardone traffic lights will finally solve the problems of flooding on the state road during storms.
Yesterday, on the Sp9 towards the Valvestino dam, seismic and geological surveys began on the two Gargnano landslides. At the moment, two types of intervention are envisaged: the first involves repairing the road downstream, while the second envisages widening the track upstream. A short section of the road in the Casello Vecchio area has been reopened, while the segment of the provincial road near Verzellina remains closed.
